Directions
As you can see on the map, our address is Kungsholms strand 141, in the Kungsholmen part of Stockholm. This is an area with excellent public transportation options. Here is what you need to know about how to get here, and away.
To/From Arlanda Airport
To get here from Arlanda Airport, or back again, you have three options:
Express Train
- Departures: every 12–15 minutes from around 5 a.m. to around midnight.
- Where to buy tickets:
- online (www.arlandaexpress.se);
- machines at the airport or station (credit cards or Swedish cash accepted);
- on board (credit cards and Swedish cash accepted, though with a 50 SEK surcharge).
- Arlanda ↔ Stockholm City (Central Station): 20 minutes, 280 SEK (for a one-way ticket for an adult, as of May, 2011).
- Central Station ↔ our apartment: take a taxi (about 100 SEK), or contact us for best public transportation options (varies with day of week and time of day).
Bus/Coach
- Departures: every 10–30 minutes from about 4 a.m. to about 10 p.m.
- Where to buy tickets:
- online (www.flygbussarna.se);
- machines at the airport or station (only credit cards, no cash);
- on board (only credit cards, no cash).
- Arlanda ↔ Stockholm City (the City Terminal, next to the Central Station): 45 minutes, 119 SEK (for a one-way ticket for an adult, as of May, 2011).
- Central Station ↔ our apartment: take a taxi (about 100 SEK), or contact us for best public transportation options (varies with day of week and time of day).
Taxi
If you want to take a taxi, we recommend that you choose one of the major taxi companies: Taxi Stockholm, Taxi Kurir, Taxi 020, or Stockholm Transfer. Remember to agree on a fixed fare before your trip begins; they are considerably cheaper than metered fares, especially in heavy traffic. A fixed-fare trip from Arlanda to Stockholm City (e.g., to our apartment) should cost you just under 500 SEK.
To/From Skavsta Airport
If you are travelling via the much smaller Skavsta Airport, the airport coach is the only reasonable alternative. Skavsta is quite far from Stockholm, so a taxi ride would no doubt be very expensive.
Bus/Coach
- Departures: scheduled to match flights to and from Skavsta.
- Where to buy tickets:
- online (www.flygbussarna.se);
- machines at the airport or station (only credit cards, no cash);
- on board (only credit cards, no cash).
- Skavsta ↔ Stockholm City (the City Terminal, next to the Central Station): 80 minutes, 139 SEK (for a one-way ticket for an adult, as of May, 2011).
- Central Station ↔ our apartment: take a taxi (about 100 SEK), or contact us for best public transportation options (varies with day of week and time of day).
Note: Competing coach service from other companies may be available from time to time, sometimes at slightly lower fares.
